Maple Cinnamon Pecan Butter

Nut butters are so easy to make at home. All you need are the nuts and a food processor or blender and some time. I’ve previously made cashew butter and Nutella, but this time I decided I would use pecans.

I know, pecans are predominant in the fall season, but there’s no reason to not make a nut butter out of it (did I just use a double negative?). Anyway, I decided to add cinnamon and a touch of maple syrup to complement the pecans. It tasted delicious. In fact, after I removed the lid, I had a waft of pecan pie. YUM. Also, I found that the pecans didn’t require much time to become a nut butter, but that could be because I pre-roasted them in the oven. But you’re more than welcome to use raw pecans too!

Makes 1 cup

  • 2 cups roasted or raw pecans
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Throw the pecans into your food processor or high-powered blender and let it run until it becomes butter. Stop to scrape down sides as needed.

Once the butter consistency is reached at the cinnamon and maple syrup and let mix again. Store in the fridge! Enjoy 🙂

You can roast the pecans in the oven preheated at 400 degrees F for about half hour. Make sure to give it a stir every so often and make sure to not burn them or the skin can become bitter!

What’s your favourite kind of nut?
